Personalized Driver Training Course for Teens and Adults

Northwest Driving School (NWDS) offers Drivers Ed for teens ages 15½ – 17½ to build a strong foundation in safe, responsible driving. The program includes a 15-hour in-person class and 6 hours (at least) of one-on-one driving lessons with DMV-certified instructors in dual-control vehicles—male or female, depending on who you're most comfortable learning from.

For adults, NWDS offers flexible driving lessons to build confidence and on-road safety, whether you're returning to the road after time away or learning to drive for the first time. Lessons are tailored to your comfort level and available at flexible times that work for your schedule. Two-hour (at least) one-on-one sessions with DMV-certified instructors cover defensive driving, freeway skills, and real-world traffic.

We also schedule your DMV test appointment, providing a certified vehicle with instructor support for the exam, and offering additional help or standalone vehicle rentals if needed.

"The atmosphere is easy-going."

The atmosphere is easy-going. I didn’t feel pressured in the class at all. My brother is going to start driving soon, he’ll definitely join me here… He’s gonna love it here.

If you can not drive, you can attend our driving lessons as we offer door-to-door pickup and drop-off service at your home, school, or workplace. Our staff will pick you up before your driving lesson and return you afterward, so you can attend behind-the-wheel driving lessons or driver education without needing your own vehicle.

Yes, you can take a drivers education course at Northwest Driving School without a permit. The drivers education course focuses on rules of the road, safety, and knowledge-based training, so you do not need to be legally allowed to drive to enroll. However, you must have a valid learner’s permit before you can participate in behind-the-wheel lessons.

For teens in Nevada, Northwest Driving School’s program includes 15 hours of classroom driver’s education plus at least 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons. If you need more practice or test preparation, enroll in additional driving hours, with many students choosing 10 or 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons to build confidence. Adult students can tailor their hours based on experience, starting from a 2-hour driving lesson and adding more as needed.

Yes, you can take driving lessons from NWDS with a valid out-of-state learner’s permit, provided the permit is current and meets the basic age and supervision requirements.

Yes, you must have a valid learner’s (instruction) permit in Nevada before you can register for a behind-the-wheel driving lesson with Northwest Driving School. The drivers education course can be started without a permit, but in-car driving practice is only allowed once you hold a valid Nevada learner’s permit, as required by state law.

If you are involved in a crash during a driving lesson, your instructor is trained to respond quickly and safely. Our training vehicles are equipped with an instructor’s foot-operated brake (often called “road brake” or “padel brake”) and a hand brake, so the instructor can help stop the car in an emergency to reduce the risk of a more serious crash. Our insurance covers damage to the training vehicle, and afterward, you will be guided through any necessary reporting steps and can continue your driving lessons with added support to regain confidence.

Yes, Northwest Driving School offers flexible payment options and can arrange installment plans based on the chosen package and schedule. Please speak with our office at 702‑212‑5667 to discuss a plan that fits your budget.

If you need to reschedule a lesson, simply notify us in advance, and we will work with you to move it to another available time slot. We understand that schedules change and do our best to accommodate rescheduling without penalties, though very‑short‑notice changes may be subject to availability and instructor constraints.

Yes, NWDS provides DMV-certified vehicles for your driving test. We schedule your appointment, provide the vehicle, and have an instructor accompany you to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience. You can also rent our DMV-certified vehicles for your drive test, starting from $300, depending on your package and availability.

If you do not have a car, you can still practice driving by enrolling in Northwest Driving School’s behind-the-wheel driving lessons, where we provide insured, DMV-certified vehicles for training. Our instructors supervise all practice sessions so you can safely build your skills in city traffic, on freeways, and in parking situations. You can also use our vehicles for the official DMV drive test, starting from $300, depending on your package.

Once you have successfully completed the course and passed the final exam, we will issue you a certificate of completion. Take your original certificate of completion to the DMV when you take your Drive Test.
